What You'll Learn
This totally online, self-paced course is designed for middle school youth and their trusted adult to experience together, side by side. Covering important sexual health topics such as consent, relationships, online safety, anatomy and pregnancy and STI prevention. Each unit is full of worksheets, processing questions, embedded videos and links to external resources to support healthy, age-appropriate communication between youth and their families about all aspects of sexuality.
At the end of this course, we hope that you will:
Feel more confident checking in with a trusted adult when it comes to questions about growing up (and especially about relationships, consent, safer sex and digital interactions).
Have answered many of your questions about bodies, boundaries, consent, relationships, and how to prevent pregnancies and STIs.
Know how to get support as you get older and have more specific questions (you know, like which online resources are helpful, and which definitely aren’t).

Unit 01
We Get It. This Feels Awkward.
Talking about sexuality with a grownup can feel embarrassing or uncomfortable. That’s normal. This Unit introduces some strategies to stay calm and lays out what to expect from this course.
Unit 02
Relearning Relationships.
In this Unit, you’ll explore what makes a relationship healthy, and what things are considered red flags. And, how you can get an adult’s help when you need it.
Unit 03
Getting Clear on Consent
In this Unit, you’ll learn how consent applies to all behaviors. You’ll also practice asking for consent and deciding whether to give it to others (or not).
Unit 04
Body Basics
In this Unit, you’ll learn the basics of puberty and anatomy. Knowing how our bodies work makes us feel more confident, and get help from adults and medical professionals when we need to.
Unit 05
STI and Pregnancy Basics
In this Unit, you’ll learn the how pregnancy and STI transmission occurs, and how to prevent them.
Unit 06
Navigating Sexuality in Digital Spaces
In this Unit, you’ll learn the how to interact online safely, especially as it relates to sexual content.

This offering is the same as our Families Talking Together Self-Paced Course, but includes a download of our 5 Foundations Workbook. Designed for use by parents and caregivers the workbook reviews five key mindset shifts and practices to use in starting conversations with youth earlier, more often, and with less shame. Includes an overview of each Foundation, resource links, and 6 downloadable worksheets to capture thoughts and discuss with a co-parent. Digital Download will be sent via email.
